I have installed my CanoScan LiDE 25 and can see it in the list of devices. But when I try to print in Fax and Scan it says I have no scanner. When I click on it in the devices to scan it says I need a WIA driver. Canon say the problem is with Microsoft. When I search in Microsoft help I can't find where to install/ download an WIA. Anyone able to help?

So I am reasonably sure I have downloaded the right versions for the scanner. Iy only gives 2 and I have tried both, but one said it was the wrong one, so seems like I did what i should. I had to have a new graphics card and motherboard and the person who did it installed Windows 7 for me (previously Vista) so I am a bit vague about what is in there, and don't have the codes etc. I can ring the chap if I need to I guess. Just don't like to give in, when the Canon Site, and the Microsoft list of compatible scanners all seem to say I should be able to make it work. I thought we were dealing with a problem in Fax & scan. It sounds as though your scanner is not installed correctly. Uninstall - check for any advice in your manual [availble in their website as well] or I would first disconnect the scanner, uninstall the scanner using any uninstall facility in the Program group for it including any software [OCR program, image scanning etc - whatever separate applications came with it], then check in Device manager for any scanner remnants & delete them manually.

Then install following the procedure given in the manual - checking that it seems to proceed properly. Try*3 - a user Dell Inspirons 7779, 1545, 9300; Windows 10 Home x64 & Pro x86; Office Pro 2007; HP DJ2540; HTC UPlay [Android 6.0], MyPhoneExplorer.
