You don't understand schtask is a command line task scheduler like the at command. Open the 'Scheduled Tasks' window. Go to the menu item 'Help' select 'Help and Support Center'. From there double click 'Schedule Tasks' (it has a little CLOSED book graphic next to it). From there double click 'Scheduled Tasks and the At command'. Click 'related topics' highlighted in blue down at the bottom of the window, select 'At'. Go down the the bottom of the next window, click 'related topics' again, select 'Schtasks'.
According to the documentation it's a very powerful command line task scheduler. Much more powerful than the 'at' command. Gracias, Bob.

Hi all, we use TimeTEQ as our employee clock in and out system. We got 5 computers dedicated for this purpose.
Out of this 5, 3 are win 7 pro so i don't have any issue with them. But the remaining 2 are Windows Embedded POS ready 2009 systems.
These systems are currently running 24/7. I want to create a schedule task so they shutdown after 9 pm everyday and change the BIOS settings to start every morning at 6 am. I was able to do this with 3 win 7 systems but i didn't find task scheduler in the pos ready systems. Is there any other way to achieve this with out task scheduler.
Now i got the task scheduler. I created a new task to shutdown daily at 8:30 PM. I tried the bat file on my laptop and it did work fine. I used the same bat file on the POSready system and it didn't work. Bat: c: windows system32 shutdown -s -f -t 10 I even tried c: windows system32 shutdown.exe -s -f and c: windows system32 shutdown s f i navigate to c: windows system32 and did run the shutdown.exe.
Still the pc is doing any thing. No events in event viewer. If i use the Start -->shutdown it will shutdown. A bit confused with this.
