Hi Scott, I have just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) from XP, and am now unable to get my d5400 to work using anything I have tried - the Dimage Scan utility, the TWAIN photoshop import plugin, or an old copy of Silverfast I had knocking around. I just continuously get error=4 could not confirm scanner connection. I originally had it plugged into the firewire port, but have now plugged it into the USB, but still no luck.:-( I already tried to do solution 2 on which is I think is what you are talking about, but my problem is that the minolta software installer (DS115E.exe) doesn't appear to have installed any drivers anywhere (that I can find anyhow), so I can't update the driver with the version on that page.

I bought the Pro version of 7, so I could run a virtual version of XP for this very scanner, only to find that my processor (E7200) was a cut down version that didn't support it!
